Italijanski “Vogue” praznom naslovnicom pokazao je humano lice modne industrije

Novi broj italijanskog “Vogue” izlazi 10. aprila, a uredništvo je odlučilo da u skladu sa okolnostima i pandemijom korona virusa svijetu ponudi krajnje simboličnu naslovnu stranu.

Umjesto sređenih manekenki ili slavnih ljepotica, koje uglavnom krase naslovnice prestižnog magazina, ovog puta imaćemo priliku da držimo časopis sa potpuno praznom, bijelom naslovnicom na kojoj je napisano samo “Vogue” i datum izlaska.

The Vogue Italia April Issue will be out next Friday 10th. 🤍🤍🤍 “In its long history stretching back over a hundred years, Vogue has come through wars, crises, acts of terrorism. Its noblest tradition is never to look the other way. Just under two weeks ago, we were about to print an issue that we had been planning for some time, and which also involved L’Uomo Vogue in a twin project. But to speak of anything else – while people are dying, doctors and nurses are risking their lives and the world is changing forever – is not the DNA of Vogue Italia. Accordingly, we shelved our project and started from scratch. The decision to print a completely white cover for the first time in our history is not because there was any lack of images – quite the opposite. White is the colour of the uniforms worn by those who put their own lives on the line to save ours. It represents space and time to think, as well as to stay silent. White recalls when, after the crisis of 1929, this immaculate colour was adopted for clothes as an expression of purity in the present, and of hope in the future. – U svojoj dugoj historiji koja se proteže na više od stotinu godina, Vogue je prošao kroz ratove, krize, terorističke napade. Njegova plemenita tradicija je da nikad ne gleda na drugu stranu. Prije nešto manje od dvije sedmice trebalo je da štampamo izdanje koje smo planirali neko vrijeme i koje je uključivalo i L’Uomo Vogue. Ali, trenutno govoriti o bilo čemu drugom, dok ljudi umiru, a doktori i medicinske sestre rizikuju svoje živote, te se svijet zauvijek mjenja, nije u DNK Vogue-a Italia. Zbog toga smo zaboravili na svoj prvobitnoi projekat i krenuli smo ispočetka. Odluka da prvi put u našoj historiji štampamo potpuno bijelu naslovnu stranu nije donijeta jer nam nedostaje slika – upravo suprotno. Odabrali smo je jer bijela boja simboliše brojne stvari u isto vrijeme. – poručio je urednički kolegijum predvođen glavnim urednikom Emanueleom Farnetiem.

“In times like this, we felt that a silent cover would speak louder than any word or image. It’s a universal message of purity, strength, respect, and hope. Yet behind the silence of this cover, a very lively and personal issue of Vogue Italia comes to life. More than 40 artists and friends welcomed the challenge to contribute from their own quarantines. We personally asked each artist to “stay true to the constraints that we are all sharing in these difficult times, creating simple, honest images”, and to depict the fashion “in a way that most reflects their personal moment, with nothing else in mind.” It’s fair to say that the resulting images depict the widest range of emotions, that seen together create a long distance community effort that becomes an important visual document of the times we are living. Oni su pokrenuli još jednu interesantnu inicijativu – okupili su preko 40 umjetnika iz cijelog svijeta koji su iz svojih domova pokazali na kreativan način kako vide novi svijet i ono kroz šta prolazimo.

Također, obrazložili su zašto su se odlučili baš za bijelu boju.

– Bijelo je prije svega poštovanje. Bijelo je novo rođenje, svjetlost nakon tame, zbir svih boja. Bijela je boja uniforme koju nose oni koji su svoj život stavili na prvu liniju kako bi spasili naše. Predstavlja prostor i vrijeme za razmišljanje, kao i za šutnju. Bijelo je za one koji ovo prazno vrijeme i prostor ispunjavaju idejama, razmišljanjima, pričama, stihovima, muzikom i brigom za druge. Bijela nas podsjeća na vrijeme nakon krize 1929. godine kad je ova besprijekorna boja preovladavala na odjeći kao izraz čistoće u sadašnjosti i nade u budućnosti. I iznad svega, bijelo nije predaja, već prazan list koji čeka da bude ispisan, naslovna stranica nove priče koja upravo treba da otpočne. -zaključili su u Vogue-u.
