Kate i William na korak od nesreće: Drama u avionu koji nije mogao da sleti

Princ William i Kate Middleton jučer su preživjeli pravu dramu a nakon što je, kako su prenijeli strani mediji, njihov avion uletio u oluju. Naime, par je u okviru pakistanske turneje  trebao posjetiti  grad Islamabad, no zbog strašne oluje koja je harala tim područjem, morali su se vratiti i prisilno sletjeti u grad Lahore. Prilikom leta su se suočili s ozbiljnim turbulencijama koje je veći dio putnika doživio kao prilično strašne.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the stunning mountains of Northern Pakistan, where the stark effects of climate change and global warming are having a profound impact on the communities that call the region home. At a glacier in the Hindu Kush mountain range, situated in the Chitral District of Pakistan’s Khyber-Pakhtunkwa Province, The Duke and Duchess walked around the northern tip of the glacier, and saw how it has retreated in recent years as a result of global warming. Nearby, in the centre of Chitral, isolated communities have suffered from severe flash flooding in recent years as a result of glaciers melting. The Duke and Duchess saw buildings and farmland destroyed in the severe floods of 2015, a stark demonstration of the risks posed by glacial melting. In Bumburet The Duke and Duchess saw drills conducted by volunteers from the local Emergency Response and Search & Rescue teams, which through community education and early warning work, were instrumental in preventing loss of life in 2015. There, they heard from local people affected by the floods, and how they are adapting their ways of life in response to flooding and other challenges posted by climate change. The Duke and Duchess hope their visit to Northern Pakistan will shine a light on the very real consequences of global warming, and its devastating effects on our planet. 📷 Kensington Palace / PA #RoyalVisitPakistan #Pakistan

It is our great pleasure to join you here this evening on our first official visit to Pakistan. I would like to begin by saying bahut shukria to you all for making us so welcome in your country. Stood here with this magnificent monument behind me, I am struck by the great strides Pakistan has made since its birth seventy-two years ago. The view from this hill would have been quite different when my grandmother, The Queen, first visited over half a century ago. Looking out, one would have seen the beginnings of a city under construction, yet to become the great capital that it is today. And with successive visits by my mother and my father, this view has continued to change, with the city constantly growing and with it my family’s affection for Pakistan. At the National Cricket Academy in Lahore @TheRealPCB, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined a match 🏏 with children participating in the British Council’s DOSTI programme. The DOSTI programme (Dosti means friendship in Urdu) promotes sport as an integral part of child development, and encourages social integration, increased self-esteem, and the development of important life skills in children.
