Ilustracije koje najbolje pokazuju kako izgleda sreća

Soosh, samouka umjetnica/ilustrator, proslavila se početkom 2016. godine, nakon što su njene dirljive ilustracije odnosa oca ili kćerke obišle cijeli svijet.

Godinu kasnije, Soosh potpisuje ugovor sa izdavačem “Little Brown Books for Young Readers” i piše svoju prvu knjigu “Dad by my Side” koja je objavljena u maju 2018. godine, a u aprilu ove godine izdala je i svoju drugu knjigu “Mermaid and Me”.

Ova umjetnica često koristi vodene boje i olovke u boji koje daju njenim djelima taj neki topao osjećaj. Na svom Instagram profilu ima više od 456.000 pratilaca.

• Shallow Hollow • i seldom know what triggers anxiety, paranoia and panic attack all at once in my tumbleweed head. Yesterday I washed dishes watching my fingers fly swiftly from plate to cup and back, feeling at peace with everything and surrendering, without struggle, to it all; to find myself suffering at 3 in the morning next day, with loop thoughts that have many beginnings but no endings, with a huge mental rock on my chest that is so real I have to strive for yet another breath again and again. The demons are a legion and lone angels shiver in the shadows of their wings and cloaks. I have been taught that intelligence is a blessing. They showed me how to sharpen my mind, encouraged manifestation of imagination; gave a couple of books (with and without pictures), some dates, quotes and names to spread here and there in a conversation.. They never warned me that a sharp mind was a double-bladed weapon with one blade-side at my throat. I learnt about it too late. This is why, ever so often, I get cuts and, I figure, those especially painful are the ones that cut through the old scars. With all being said, there is one remedy (of many), one place to escape (of many) and this place is a shallow hollow located in between my chest and shoulder. When i stretched my arms open, i can feel it. It’s a convenient place where, if i’m meant to be saved, my child shall rest his head for a while. • The World Down Syndrome Day • . Today we are celebrating special people, people who come to this world like anyone else, yet with the presence of one or a part of additional third copy of chromosome 21. . I believe that every single one of us has a mission on this planet and people with Down syndrome are here not only to shine as bright as they can and achieve their missions goals as individuals but also to test our society’s kindness, tolerance and acceptance. . . I grew up in a country which could be called Sparta. Where the most terrible word of all was “unique” or “different”. You didn’t want to be unique, you didn’t want your children to be unique, everyone had to be like a copy of another and “diversity” was a taboo.. I am happy that nowadays my son and I are a part of a different society; and, maybe, we have not yet reached the point where every one of us is included, given space and appreciated, but we are heading there. • dollhouse surprise • . . Beware! A text of many letters and great sentiments is ahead! 🤗⚠️ . . When Little Brown @littlebrownyoungreaders and myself were creating “Dad by my side” book filled with illustrations you showed so much love for 🙏, we came up with this idea to add a couple of illustrations exclusively for this book, and so we did. Some of those “never seen before” father/daughter drawings were chosen for the book and are there to surprise you with, yet there are some which didn’t make it into the book – like this one, for example, “a dollhouse surprise” illustration. . . Very soon there will be signed books giveaway and “Dad by my side” will finally take its place in bookstores (please, see my stories for a quick pееk at it) but today I am happy to share this illustration with you, the one which didn’t make it into the book, yet as dear to my heart as the rest of the works i did. . .
